The Decision

When I was a child, my parents would read fairy tales to me before going to bed. It left an everlasting good feeling of good beats evil to help me sleep through the night with sweet dreams. As I looked over the list of first year seminar courses given this Fall, my eyes were instantly drawn to the word Disney. Along with the word Disney, was Grimm. I had never heard of the Brothers Grimm and that the fairy tales from Disney were adapted from the fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm. I became very intrigued and felt a longing to learn more. I also noticed that this seminar had a strong emphasis on world languages because the Brothers Grimm were from Germany and the fairytales we will read will be translated from German. This is intriguing to me because I am fascinated by world languages and other cultures. Through this seminar, I hope to read the original fairy tales written from the Brothers Grimm and to gain a better understanding of the adaptations of the fairy tales and why Dis
